Winter’s coming to an end (eventually) and that can only mean one thing; it’s car boot sale season. Yes, time to get your pasting table out, get up at the crack of 4:00am, fill the car with pointless crap and head on out to a field somewhere to haggle over 20p.
However, if you’re into collectible toys the booting season means the potential to unearth some great bargains. You can find McDonalds toys, Star Wars figures, Transformers, WWE and everything people throw out or no longer want.
I once found a Transformers Scorponok from the Eighties, boxed, with the Sticker sheet unapplied. It was as if it came straight from a shop, and was only £5. I sold it on eBay some time later for £150.
Not a bad markup.
If you’re going to a bootsale looking for collectible toys though, be sure to get there early. You’ll need to be there as the cars are arriving in order to get those bargains before they’re snapped up.
