This Christmas Sony is trying to capture some of the interactive game market and steal some business from Nintendo. Introducing the new Playstation Move, which is now available for the PS3.
Although the Move controller utilises similar technology to the Nintendo Wii controller there are a few big differences to up the accuracy. Firstly the Move controller has a glowing orb (which can glow up to 100 different colours) which is tracked by a Playstation eye, placed on top of your TV, and will monitor movement as well as your distance from the screen. Sony has also added a magnometer (a digital compass) to the controller which uses the Earth’s gravitational pull to bolster the other readings. How awesome does that sound?
Early reviews have been very positive as the Move appears to have lag free response added to the high end graphics of the PS3. Some newspapers have even suggested that it will outmanoeuvre the Xbox Kinect which appears to suffer responsive lag.

There will be a large selection of games released exclusively for the Move but some games, which have already been released for the standard PS3 controller, are releasing patches that will enable use of the new controller.
