What is the most popular toy this Christmas?

That’s a question you may be asking yourself as you think of what to buy for the kids this year. Luckily, Hitwise have already done the research based on web searching habits. The answer, rather surprisingly I think, is a resounding win for the Bratz toyline with over 27% of toy related searches.

Who said girls don’t use the Internet, certainly not us!

The second most popular this Christmas is Transformers, rather expected that one with the Transformers movie doing huge business this last Summer. Lego, Scalextric and Barbie are just some of the long running brand names to make the top 10.

Noticeable by its absence however is the 30 year old toyline known as Star Wars. It may have died down a little in popularity but expect to see the toys crop up here and there anyway. Perennial classics like that will always sell well at Christmas.
