Today sees the release of Microsoft’s Kinect which is their answer to Nintendo’s Wii and Sony’s Playstation Move. The slim black device, which plugs directly into your existing Xbox 360, contains a camera, audio sensor and motion sensor.
Where the device differs from the Wii and Move is that it doesn’t require the gamer to hold a controller because it actually tracks your body movement. It also has the potential to recognise the user’s voice and face.
In a nutshell, what the Kinect does is allow the user to interact with the game by simply moving their hands, legs or head depending on what the game requires. The gamer becomes the joypad.
This is a unique way to experience games and could possibly be the future of gaming, only time will tell.

However, it isn’t cheap as it will cost you £130 and will come packaged with the game Kinect Adventures, which will allow you to use it straight away.
